Greenwing Macaw
Greenwing macaws are the second largest species of macaw. They can have a body length of up to 39 inches, a wingspan of up to 49 inches, and they can weigh between 1,250 and 1,700 grams, which is pretty darn big!
Greenwings are also considered to be one of the friendliest birds in the macaw family. This docile nature and large size has earned this parrot the nickname of “Gentle Giant.” They can be extremely empathetic with their owners too. After a long day, sometimes my babies will climb up on the couch with me and just place their wing around my shoulder as if to say, “Aww Mom, it’s OK now.” Despite their large size, they do quite well in families, and with smaller children. They are normally a very good ‘pass around’ pet, if trained this way from once they come into your home.
Greenwing macaws are also extremely beautiful birds. Their vibrant plumage consists of brilliant reds, greens, and blues making the Greenwing one of the most spectacular birds on the market. They are also very good talkers. If you are able to accommodate these animals then you will find them to be an excellent pet and a loyal companion. I would not suggest one of these parrots for a townhouse, condo, or apartment owner. As being a giant macaw, their call can be heard for long distances.
Caging requirements: Because of their large size, Greenwing macaws need roomy cages. A minimum of 4’ x 3’ x 6’ cage is required.

Blue and Gold Macaw
The even temper, intelligence, and beauty of the Blue & Gold macaw have made it one of the most popular pet macaws in the world. Blue & Gold macaws are gentle in nature and they love to be around people making them one of the easiest macaws to socialize. Blue & Gold macaws are also extremely beautiful parrots. Their blue wings and tail, black chin, golden under parts and green forehead make Blue & Gold macaws one of the most stunning and vibrant birds in the world. On top of their docile nature and spectacular plumage, these macaws are also very intelligent. They have a reputation for having one of the best talking abilities out of all the macaws and they are also quite good at learning new tricks. Blue & Gold macaws are sure to make wonderful pets for all that can accommodate them.
Size and caging requirements: Blue & Gold macaws are one of the largest parrot species in the world. Adults can range from 30-35 inches in length, can weigh from 900g-1300g (2-3lbs) and can have wingspans ranging from 41-45 inches. Because of their large size, Blue & Gold macaws require fairly large cages of 36” x48” with bar spacing 1” to 1 ½”.

Catalina Macaw
The Catalina Macaw is a hybrid macaw. It is the offspring of a Scarlet macaw and a Blue & Gold macaw. Our Catalinas are large due to the father being the Scarlet, but they have the sweet nature of the Blue & Gold from their mother. The babies are very friendly, and normally are talking before they are totally weaned. They are a very intelligent bird, and learn tricks quite easily. They are good with families, and love to be on the floor playing with everyone else. A Catalina’s color is astounding! The chest area is a vibrant sunset color, and the back and wing areas are a beautiful green. The tails have blue, green, and black on them.
Size and caging requirements: Catalina macaws are much of the same size as a Blue & Gold macaw. Because of their large size, Catalina macaws require fairly large cages of 36” x 48”, and should have a height of at least 65” with bar spacing 1” to 1 ½”.
